Panini America Launches Panini College for College Athletes

Panini America is revolutionizing the world of collegiate sports memorabilia with the unveiling of their latest innovation, Panini College. This groundbreaking platform aims to empower college athletes by providing them with the opportunity to have their own trading cards, all under the prestigious Panini NIL brand. Not only will this initiative allow fans to collect cards of their favorite collegiate athletes, but it also serves as a unique memento for the athletes themselves.

The concept behind Panini College is simple yet ingenious – athletes from partner universities will have their personal trading cards available for purchase by fans. Moreover, participating athletes will earn compensation based on the sales of these cards, with some even offering exclusive autographed versions for avid collectors. The platform is set to kick off with football and volleyball players from renowned schools such as Ohio State University, University of Nebraska, and University of Texas.

As Panini College gains traction, the brand is already looking to broaden its horizons by expanding to more schools and sports nationwide in the near future. This move not only allows for a more diverse range of athletes to partake in the initiative but also extends the benefits of showcasing their name, image, and likeness.

Officially debuting on September 3rd, the platform will be accessible via college.paniniamerica.net. Fans can anticipate a continuous stream of new products and athlete cards rolling out throughout the 2024-25 academic year. This dynamic approach ensures that collectors will always have something fresh and exciting to add to their collections.

Jason Howarth, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Athlete Relations for Panini America, expressed the brand’s vision, emphasizing that every collegiate athlete, regardless of their background or discipline, should be given the opportunity to have their own trading card. With Panini College, the trading card landscape is being reshaped, providing athletes from all sporting realms with a platform to leverage their NIL. Additionally, as the program expands to encompass more schools and sports, it opens up new avenues for athletes to gain exposure and for fans to acquire thrilling new memorabilia.

Panini College serves as a testament to Panini America’s steadfast dedication to the collegiate NIL arena. The brand has already formed partnerships with notable athletes, including Lexi Rodriguez, a volleyball All-American from the University of Nebraska and Panini’s inaugural female NIL athlete. Other prominent figures like Quinn Ewers, Tre Johnson, Arch Manning, Dylan Raiola, Julian Sayin, and Zachariah Branch have also joined forces with Panini to amplify their presence in the trading card realm.

Earlier this year, Panini captivated audiences with the launch of the Caitlin Clark Collection, a series celebrating the remarkable career of University of Iowa basketball sensation, Caitlin Clark. This move further solidified Panini’s foothold in the collegiate sports trading card market, showing a commitment to innovation and embracing the flourishing collegiate NIL landscape.

Through Panini College, Panini America continues to lead the way in collegiate sports trading cards, providing athletes with a novel platform for recognition and granting fans a fresh avenue to engage with their favorite collegiate stars. This innovative initiative underscores Panini’s ongoing commitment to pushing boundaries and meeting the ever-evolving demands of the dynamic collegiate sports landscape.
